1. Service Overview
hakobu:ne provides luggage transfer services along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. We collect luggage from your current accommodation and deliver it to your next accommodation on the same day.
By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Use in full.
2. Bookings & Payment
Booking
All bookings are made via our online form. A booking is confirmed only after we have reviewed your request and sent you an invoice. We reserve the right to decline a booking if we are unable to accommodate it.
Payment
Payment is made by credit card only, via the invoice link we send upon confirmation. No cash payment is accepted.
Cancellation
- 3 or more days before pickup: No cancellation fee
- 2 days before pickup: 50% cancellation fee
- 1 day before pickup: 100% cancellation fee
Refunds
Refunds are processed to your credit card within 30 days of cancellation. If a cancellation fee applies, the fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
3. Luggage Guidelines
Accepted Luggage
We accept up to 15 pieces of luggage per booking. There are no restrictions on size or weight, but please note that availability may vary depending on the situation on the day. Luggage that is significantly larger or heavier than a standard suitcase may not be accepted. Please contact us in advance if you have any concerns.
Prohibited Items
The following items may not be included in your luggage:
- Valuables (cash, jewellery, passports, electronics, etc.)
- Fragile items
- Perishable food or fresh produce
- Illegal or hazardous materials
hakobu:ne accepts no responsibility for damage to or loss of any prohibited items.
Drop-off
Luggage must be left at the front desk or the location designated by your accommodation by 8:00 AM on your departure day, even if you are departing after 8:00 AM.
4. Liability & Compensation
Our Liability
If luggage is lost or damaged due to clear negligence on the part of hakobu:ne, we will provide compensation up to ¥30,000 per piece of luggage. This excludes prohibited items as listed above.
Force Majeure
In the event that delivery is not possible due to typhoons, natural disasters, road closures, or other circumstances beyond our control, we will provide an appropriate refund. We are not liable for any additional costs incurred as a result.
Disclaimer
hakobu:ne is not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect information provided at the time of booking, or by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Accommodation names and dates
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for the following purposes:
- Processing and confirming your booking
- Coordinating your transfer with the relevant accommodations
- Communicating with you regarding your booking
Third Parties
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties, except where necessary to coordinate your transfer with the accommodation facilities involved.

6. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from the use of our service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
